Volvo Cars Celebrated as one of “Worlds Most Ethical Companies” for 2017 by Ethisphere Institute

The Ethisphere Institute has recently recognized Volvo Cars as a 2017 World’s Most Ethical Company®, making Volvo Cars just one of four automotive companies to be included on the list (which named 124 companies total).

This is a huge honor for the Scandinavian automaker, and it owes in no small part to the company’s investment of both money and energy into its Compliance & Ethics program. The program aims to guide the company through ethical risks, touching on subjects from corruption to export control, data privacy to human rights. In the past year, the program has launched a training program for managers and, to date, over 400 employees have successfully completed this training.

“I’m very proud that Volvo Cars has been recognised (sic) as one of the world’s most ethical companies,” said Håkan Samuelsson, President and CEO of Volvo Cars. “Responsible business is a fundamental part of Volvo Cars’ heritage, and engrained in our corporate culture. An ethical approach is not just the right thing to do, but it brings financial value too.” —from a 03.13.17 Volvo Cars Press Release
