Volvo Cars Drops Some Electrifying News:

By 2019, Every Vehicle Volvo Cars Launches Will Be Fully or Partially Electrified

Folks, we might be witnessing the downfall of the internal combustion engine (ICE), because Volvo Cars has just announced that it plans to make sure all vehicles launched from 2019 on will include some form of electrification, be that a hybrid or fully electric drivetrain. This marks a big shift, not only for Volvo Cars, but for the entire automotive industry.

Between 2019 and 2021, Volvo Cars plans to launch five fully electric cars, three will be joining the Volvo Cars portfolio and two high-performance electrified cars will be flying the Polestar flag. In addition to these new models, Volvo Cars plans to bring electrification all across its model range, delivering fully electric cars, plug-in hybrids, and standard hybrids to the Volvo models we already know and love.

“This is about the customer,” said Håkan Samuelsson, president and chief executive. “People increasingly demand electrified cars and we want to respond to our customers’ current and future needs. You can now pick and choose whichever electrified Volvo you wish.” —from a July 5, 2017 Volvo Cars Press Release

Things are looking bright for the Volvo lineup, and if you’re a fan of the Volvo lineup like we are, then you’ll probably have your eye on Volvo’s electrifying transition. Don’t forget about us when it’s time to get your own electrified Volvo model—2019 isn’t far off at all.
